About me
Welcome to my web page! I am happy to have the opportunity to introduce myself to you. As a Certified Nurse Midwife, I am part of the team of clinicians who provide health care women for the Women and Child Services of kaiser Permanente Orange County. I am fortunate to be able to work as a clinician with a wonderful group of colleagues who work closely together and strive to provide you an exceptional health care experience.
Biography
I moved from New York to California in 1997 to attend Loma Linda University. I received my Bachelor's in Science in Nursing. I loved nursing school and made lifetime friends there who I still see once a year. I loved the focus of nursing care and how it was about taking care of the whole person, not just their illness. I loved my OB/GYN rotation and went on to receive my Master's degree in Nursing, Midwifery from UCLA in 2001. I started with Kaiser a student and was hired after graduation. I have been with Kaiser since 2001 and I have loved every minute of it. I love women's health and of course my favorite part is being a part of bringing new little lives into the world.
About my practice
As a Midwife with Kaiser, I get to participate in providing healthcare to women throughout the lifecycle. This includes gynecology, prenatal care, intrapartum care and postpartum. I strive every day to make every experience an excellent one for the women I am taking care of. There are some instances where I find something that is above my scope of care, so thankfully I work with the best physicians and can easily go to one for advise or have someone I can send you to for a consultation. I believe in preventive health care and the importance of self-care in promoting total wellness. I could not imagine a more fulfilling or rewarding career that being a Midwife. It is something I am very proud of!
How I thrive
I have a son and a daughter that keep me very active! They are my heart and soul. I love being a mother! Time with my husband and children is precious to me and I savor it. We love the beach and traveling and playing outside. My son loves soccer, so yes, I am a soccer mom. My busy lifestyle does not allow for a lot of downtime, but I realize the importance of taking care of myself, so I eat right (80% of the time, you have to have a cupcake every now and then), exercise and spend time at my church.
