About me
Hello, and thank you for visiting my web page. I feel very privileged to work as a Certified Nurse Midwife here at Kaiser Permanente since 1997. I love my job of working with women throughout their lifetime, and am fortunate to work with a wonderful group of Midwives and Physicians. I have strong roots here and love Orange County!
Biography
I was born in Orange County and have lived here almost all of my life. My husband is originally from South Africa and we met while I was traveling in Israel. We have four children, with two out on their own already. All of my children have attended the same High School that I graduated from 30 years ago!
About my practice
Our team includes certified nurse midwives and physicians. My practice encompasses caring for women throughout their lifetime. This includes routine well woman gynecology, family planning and birth control counseling, plus prenatal care and attending births at our Kaiser Permanente hospitals. How I thrive
I have a very active family and as you can imagine, World Travel is one of our favorite activities. Some of my favorite places I visited are Israel, Cancun, Zimbabwe, and our African safari near Kruger National Park. Our family also enjoys boating, going to the lakes nearby, camping and hiking. My children are avid rock climbers and water sports enthusiasts. I also enjoy walking my two rescued Labradoodles, who keep me exercising and Thriving!

My training and certification
Medical training
I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Los Angeles. After graduation, I started my nursing career at Los Angeles County Hospital. This busy labor and delivery unit gave me a foundation for recognizing normal versus abnormal labors, and a desire to help women as their medical provider during this amazing time in their life. I returned to school at Charles Drew University in Los Angeles and became trained as a Midwife, then completed my Master of Science in Nursing at California State University, Long Beach. After working for several years in a hospital based practice, I opened a private practice and attended births at home and at a free-standing birth center.
