About me
Over the years, I have learned that the significant part of the interaction between my patients and myself is the relationship behind it. I tell my patients that every physician is medically competent and well trained. Therefore, in selecting a physician, they should feel like this is a provider with whom they can build a relationship with over the years. I hope that this Web page will help tell you a little about myself.
Biography
I was born in Taiwan but immigrated here when I was four years old. I grew up in Southern California (San Marino) and never ventured very far outside of California as I have always considered this my home. Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to provide care to others, and medicine naturally fits that goal. I specifically chose to be an obstetrician/gynecologist since this seemed like the perfect field for me. It provided me the opportunity to develop longer-term relationships with patients as well as perform surgical procedures. I am married to a dentist and we have two wonderful children. I feel that the experience of being pregnant and becoming a mother has enabled me to better care for my patients.
About my practice
I am a general Ob/Gyn, but am interested in the various specialities of this field. In particular, I have been especially interested in helping patients with pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. I am truly thankful for all the trust and confidence that my patients have in me. My goal has always been to care for patients in the manner that my family would like to be cared for. I strongly believe in patient education because it enables people to better understand their conditions and actively participate in their care.
How I thrive
As a physician, there are many stresses that can impact my life and well-being. My philosophy is to work hard but also to take personal time so that I can renew myself and continue to provide good care for my patients. I enjoy taking walks with my husband and working out at the gym with him. We also enjoy snowboarding, swimming and tennis. In addition, I try to implement a healthy dietary lifestyle with emphasis on vegetables and fruits. After all, you've got to practice what you preach!
