Each room has a window, a bathroom with a shower and a flat screen TV featuring the educational Baby Channel. A pull out bed is available for partners to spend the night during your stay. We encourage family bonding through rooming in. This special relationship is important to us and is supported by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Nurse Midwives and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Healthy siblings are welcome to visit and need to be screened at the nurse’s station.

If you have had a vaginal birth you should be able to go home when your baby is one to two days old. If you have had a cesarean birth you should be able to go home when your baby is one to three days old. Before you go we will do the paperwork for your baby to have her/his own Kaiser Permanente Medical Record Number, Social Security number, Birth Certificate, as well as make an appointment for your baby to see a pediatrician when he or she is 3-5 days old.

You are required by California state law to have a car seat installed in your car to take your baby home. Our staff is not able to assist you with your car seat installation. We recommend that you take the Infant Safety and CPR class before your baby is born and learn how to choose and use a car seat correctly. Register by calling the appointment center at 1-888-988-2800. You will enjoy a special celebration meal complete with sparkling cider reserved for our most special guests, new parents. Regular meals can be ordered through room service for mom at no charge and family can also order meals for a fee.
